[SOLVED] Gpu stuck at 139 mhz

Ok so I was cleaning my pc and when I turned it back on something felt off. I checked msi afterburner and GPU-u and both said my mhz is at 139 when it's usually in the 1600s. I have done a reinstall of windows, used ddu and reinstalled the files on the gpu, took the card out and put it back in. All my power settings are on performance, my whole system is brand new except the gpu. My specs are a i3-10100 cpu 1080 GPU asus turbo viper steel ram 16 gb H410M-HDV motherboard and I dont remember the same of my psu but it's a 650 watt bronze certified. Any help would be greatly appreciated

139MHz in Windows when idle at Desktop or in games? The GPU drops it's frequency to lowe the power and heat output when not being used. If it's an Nvidia GPU and it was running at max frequency all the time before, it likely means you had global power options set to max performance instead of setting that per game.

Programs like battle.net will cause the GPU to run at max frequency and use more power because it uses GPU acceleration for some functions of the UI. That is why you shouldn't set to prefer max power on global settings.

So it stays at 139 mhz even when going into a game. For example loading into black ops 3 it was running at 10 fps. Everything I try to do doesnt seem to change its mhz at all. Thanks for the help

Download GPU-Z and then when it's open, click on the Lookup button in the top right of the Graphics Cad tab. That will bring you to a techpowerup webpage listing the model of your GPU. Post that webpage so I can look up more info on the card.

Also, on the Sensor tab, check the power and voltage on 8-pin or just take a screenshot of the tab and upload it.

PCIE slot power can't be 135watt, the slot only delivers up to 75watt, so either you wrote the wrong thing or have a serious problem. Other than that it looks normal. I would say retry DDU and make sure to follow all the steps. If that doesn't work, reset your motherboard bios to defaults and see what happens.

PCIE slot power can't be 135watt, the slot only delivers up to 75watt, so either you wrote the wrong thing or have a serious problem. Other than that it looks normal. The PCIe slot power is in fact 135w. Does that mean theres a problem with my psu?I reset the cmos and used ddu and it's still drawing 135 watts. Also my gpu chip power draw is zero if that matters. Also in device manager it says I have 3 drivers with no compatible drivers. There is , PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller. PCI memory controller. And SM bus controller. Idk if that's important or not

Also, can you describe how you are using DDU step by step?

How do I post a screenshot? When I go to images it just pulls up a text box. I'm using ddu by going into safe mode then going into the app then I do a full clean and restart then it boots me back out of safe mode

You need to upload the picture to an image hosting site like imgur and then post the web link.

When you reinstall the driver, how are you installing it? where are you download the driver? Have you tried an older driver?

With ddu i tried first downloading geforce experience and getting the latest driver. Second time i downloaded a drive that was only a little older. and i tried a drive from last year. they were all downloaded from Nvidia

Shut down your system and check your PCIE 8pin power cable from the PSu to the GPU. Make sure everything is secure. GPU-Z should not be reading 0 power on 8-pin power.

Assuming you are on Windows 10, download the newest GPU driver from https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/167753/en-us. Install it with a clean install and skip the Geforce experience. After that, make sure to download the Nvidia control panel from the Windows store.

I did all of that and there was no change.
