Gpu turns in then off. Getting no signal in display

Specs:
Motherboard: x370 gaming pro carbon
Cpu: ryzen 7 1700
Gpu: gigabyte 8gb 1080
Psu: corsair xm 850 watt
Ram: 2x 4gb corsair vengeance

My gpu powers on then turns off. Ive tried plugging everything back in a few times and still get the same results. When I power on my pc everything turns on including the gpu but it shuts off after a few seconds and no bios is coming up or anything. It was working fine the past few days and the problem began when I restarted my computer to try and install a windows update and once the computer restarted the screen was getting no signal and everything was on but the gpu. I have been having trouble with a corrupted windows update the past few days and I was attempting to reinstall it by restarting my pc and that's when the problem began.

Have you tried to turn the computer on without the GPU plugged in with your monitor plugged into the Mobo port?

Im gonna give that a try and see what happens.

If that works then either its a bad GPU or a bad PCIe slot, you can try using a different PCEi slot to check that out.

i tried what you said and nothing came up on the screen even though the motherboard appears to be on and all the leds are on.

Everything was working just fine until i tried to reinstall a windows update and then it just suddenly started having issues. I built this pc a week ago
