Hi guys, I'm looking at upgrading my PC, I last upgraded in 2021 and only changed my motherboard ram and cpu.

I was looking at getting a 4060 but i'm not sure if it will pair well with what I currently have. Here is the link of what my PC will look like if I do upgrade to a 4060, but I'm not sure if spending an extra £100/£200 would be more beneficial.

Apologies if this isn't in the correct format needed for this thread.

All is fine, including the PSU. While Corsair RMe is mediocre quality, it does fine powering RTX 4060, more so, since you have 850W unit and RTX 4060 is only 115W GPU.
Thanks for your reply,

I went overkill with the PSU as when I bought it, was only an extra £10 compared to same make 700W version.

I've since done some research and read that people find there's a performance difference between MSI and for Gigabyte. Is this true and if so is there such difference that would be noticeable for someone who plays games like CS2 or Valorant?

if they are both rtx 4060 cards then they should both be within a couple of percentage points of one another. IMO choose the one with the best price and best warranty.

Another move you can make later if desired is to update the bios of your motherboard and drop in a 5000 series cpu such as a 5700x.

I would advise against a 4060, due to it only having 8gb vram, along with Nvidia driver overhead issues given your CPU. A 7600xt offers similar raster performance, and is a bit more expensive than that 4060 you chose, but has twice the vram, and will age much better. 8gb is already starting to become limiting, even at 1080p, in more modern AAA titles.

When it comes to AIB models, diffs are power delivery, cooling (including fan noise) and aesthetics. While performance is essentially equal across all models. There are some variations in boost clocks and if cooling isn't sufficient enough, thermal throttle can play a role in performance. Still, RTX 4060 is so low power GPU that thermals are hardly an issue.

Here are thermals comparison between some different AIB models,

To see differences in boost clocks, look here,

Scroll down until you see different AIB models. There are actually a lot of different RTX 4060 models.

But if you want more differences, then this roundup is good read,

All-in-all, it matters little which AIB model you get.
I, personally, prefer MSI. Especially Gaming X (or Z) series. (Too poor for Suprim series.) MSI Gaming X series is one of the quietest while one of the best cooling AIB models. Have several in use as well, like MSI GTX 1060 3G Gaming X and MSI GTX 1660 Ti Gaming X. My future GPUs (probably RTX 5060) will also be MSI Gaming X series.

What is your current problem that you are trying to solve?
I might guess gaming performance.
Before upgrading graphics do this check:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
This makes the graphics card loaf a bit.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

Honestly 4060 is bad value I would personally choose a b580 over it
