GPU usage dropping which is causing FPS to drop

Hello,

I have recently got a new GPU and I was having an issue were my GPU usage would occasionally drop down to 40-50%, while I am playing games. This is then causing the FPS to drop and cause stutter. My CPU is only at 50% usage and doesn’t dip down when my GPU dips, so I doubt that it is a bottleneck. I can confirm that my hardware is not overheating as my CPU is at ~50°C and GPU at ~60°C.

My specs
CPU – intel g4560
Motherboard – MSI B250M Pro VH
PSU – corsair VS450
RAM – 1x8GB ddr4 2133
GPU – Asus strix RX 570 4GB

What games are you playing? It actually could be the cpu bottlenecking the gpu. If the cpu can't keep up, then the gpu has to throttle itself while it waits for the cpu processes.

I have tried playing rust which has extremely bad drops, but even if i lowered my settings, i still get drops and stutters. I have also played Fortnite which isn't too bad on the drops and stuttering. I have retested and have noticed when i play Fortnite as the GPU drops, the CPU usage goes up to 100% usage.

I have just finished testing rust and have found that there isn't any bottleneck from what i can see. the cpu is staying around 50-60% usage consistently and the GPU is spiking up and down.
