GPU vs CPU

I'm looking at building a budget to mid-range gaming computer, which will be used for some core intensive tasks (video edits, etc) and general all-purpose. Should I go for the intel i5 4690k and an EVGA gtx 750Ti FTW with ACX ( 1189Mhz to 1268Mhz boost), or the AMD fx-6300 cpu and spend more money on a better GPU, for the same total cost (Note that motherboard is £109 for ASRock z97 Extreme4 for i5. Is this too much to pay?)

as @rockie_ said but i would go for an nvidea card instead of an amd for better drivers in video editing
gtx 660 or 750ti or 760

Go with the intel system and get a better GPU later the AMD FX LINE in at its end of its life socket AM3+

I've decided I'm going to stick with the intel system described, and buy the gtx 760Ti later on. Thanks!
