I have had this computer running for over 3 months now with no problems what so ever, however within the last couple weeks I've been noticing 2 things. 1. my ram continuously fills over a few days of my pc being on until i have to restart it. and 2. the last thing i saw in windows was an error that said:

"Microsoft Windows
The application is not responding. The program may respond again if you wait.
Do you want to end this process?"

At this point i can't get to my Bios with my nvme and gpu both intsalled. I'll post my specs below.

CPU - AMD R7-1800X
Motherboard - MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon
RAM - 16GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4
GPU - Gigabyte R9 290 4GB
M.2 NVME- Samsung 960 EVO 256GB
SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 250GB
Hdd - 1TB Seagate Barracuda
Fans - 2 Noctua NF-F12 iPPC 3000rpm
Case - NZXT S340 Elite Matte Black

What are you doing for a few days that fills the RAM ? Whic application is running and what is it doing? Did you [strike]chack[/strike] check what [strike]meessafes[/strike] messages are there on "display reliability history" ?

The problem with the ram is i only have 4 apps open: Task Manager, HWMonitor, TS Client, and Spotify. nothing shows major ram usage, but it will have 10/16GB used while idle with those 4 apps open. Also I did not check for any of those messages as I realized too late and can't boot from the nvme drive now

Can you boot from SSD? And what amount of 'hardware reserved' was shown for RAM ?

I had carried out a funny experiment : I had installed 2 x 8 GB DDR4 2400 Kingston( single rank) and 2 x 8 GB DDR4 2400 Crucial Ballistix Sport ( dual rank) on Gigabyte X370 motherboard with Ryzen 1700. Crucials and Kingstons were inserted so that there were 2 x ( crucial + kingston ) on each channel.

And windows task manager showed '16.1 GB' hardware reserved memory ! Available RAM was 15 GB and some of it was used.

Seeing you have Ryzen+x370+ crucial 2400 ... are your RAM placed on same channel ( ram slots 1-3 or 2-4) or on different channels ( ram slots 1-2 or 3-4) ?

I can't boot from the nvme ssd at all, and I have to remove it just to get post to display. I think it may have failed and my motherboard now thinks its a graphics card. Also I am running my RAM in the same channel (slots 2-4)
