GPU won't fit into pci slots / Motherboard misaligned with case?

Hello. I purchased a pre-assembled PC, but the motherboard will not allow any cards to be installed into the pci slots. I've included pictures. You can't see it very well, but the pci plugs do not align with the slot opening in the case itself, they fall in between each opening. In addition to that, all cards are too short to be plugged into the motherboard. The screws are too far up.

I do not know what the case model is, it looks generic. I googled the number with no results. It's listed on the site as "Black Mid tower case". Here's a picture of the same one http://www.ascendtech.us/mmASC/Images/BKMIDTOWER.jpg



Is there any way to fix this without breaking the case itself?

I don't know if its your pictures but the first picture it looks like the motherboard is right. if you put strait edge down the pci connector is should just hit the top edge of the opening. as for picture two I don't know what its trying to show besides the card is 2 inchs from the back of the case.

I noticed in all three pics that the pci slot cover is still in place when you should have removed it when you were trying to put your card in. in one picture you have the top one removed but the second one down where the card should come though is still in place

Thank you, but I'm a little insulted by your reply. I'm not stupid enough to not remove the slot covers before I insert a card. The covers are removed, but the card will not fit down into the slot. The motherboard is too low down on the case and the card is too short; the tab (where the screw fits) prevents it from going all the way down.

I fixed the problem by bending off the metal tab on the card itself. it now fits, even if it's loose. I know this isn't ideal, but I'm not shelling out more money for another card or another pc.

Some of the cheap cases have very poor manufacturing tolerances so everything doesn't line up perfectly. Slightly bending the graphics card's mounting bracket may be your only solution as you have already found out.

Thank you and everyone for your replies. I suppose keeping it bent is my only option.

Yes, but it's still not lined up correctly. I guess it's just the case.
