GPU wont start

I've recently just changed my motherboard processor and RAM, however i kept my PSU GPU and HDD etc, They were all working perfectly before i switched them into the new PC however when i boot the PC up the GPU doesnt run.

If i take the GPU out of a PCI slot and boot up the fan runs for about 2 seconds then stops dead. Whereas if left in the PCI slot it doesnt run at all?

If you changed your motherboard, you will likely have to reinstall Windows.. did you?

Windows is installed on the HDD yes
