GPU-Z VDDC doesn't change

Funny enough most questions on here are about 'fluctuations' in the VDDC readings (core voltage). Mine stay on an absulute 1.2000 V, whether I set Afterburner to 1100 or 1300. I'm using an HD6950.

If the VDDC readings of my GPU-Z installation are correct, my Afterburner overvoltages obviously aren't applied right. This would definitely explain some trouble I've had with 3DMark.

Edit: Oh yeah, my question: What's going wrong here?

That would be strange as it's a Twin Frozr III, which is touted as an overclocking card. I'll try flashing a new BIOS though (wanted to do that anyway to get the extra 6970 shaders).

Nope. At least, I just modified my BIOS and flashed it, and nothing changed. Can't find an option for unlocking voltage and the shader unlocking was unsuccessful, making me sad face.

Also, from the MSI site:

Triple Over-Voltage Function
1. Support voltage adjustment of GPU, memory & VDDCI.
2. Unleash GPU performance totally.

Especially that second item really has me intrigued :sarcastic:
