GPU's not in SLI 16x concern

I will be running 2 GTX 780 cards on Asus ROG Maximus VII Hero not in SLI.

I need this config for 3D rendering because the program I use will render faster (it allocates tiles to two GPU's and doesn't care about SLI at all).

Will these two cards run in 16x?

Your board can only give them 8 lanes apiece.

I don't believe so. They will run at 8x each.

Im not sure it will make a difference though
