It's using the Intel Skylake family of processors. It's the most recent processors that Intel makes.

I really didn't look at your monitor earlier. Do you particularly like that one? It has a very fast response time and its 144HZ, but you might prefer an IPS monitor which has more accurate colors that don't shift around at different viewing angles. Here is a nice IPS monitor in your budget:

I'm getting this computer for gaming mostly, also school work. I picked that monitor because it's 144hz, I already have a 60hz monitor and its alright. I hear all the time that 144hz monitors are better for gaming.
 


That's the picture I'm getting from reading the link above. I would be happy for someone else to chime in who knows more about this.
