Hi all .. I am planning to build a new PC soon and have decided to get an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X CPU and a Strix x 370-f gaming motherboard and then for graphics.. I was thinking about getting a GTX 1070 instead of the 1070 TI.. but I am looking for some suggestions for the card.. the 1070 is about 500 dollars.. I was reading reviews on it and found there may be some issues with high temps on this plus noise.. I was hoping to get a card for less than 500 but no- idea what would be a good one to have to use for a long time. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance.

The GTX1070 is great. That is what I have and it's amazing, no noise or high temps. First I have heard of that. Best price per performance card you can get in my opinion. It has plenty of VRAM so you should be good for at least a few more years. You should be able to find one for under 500 if you shop around real well.

First off congrats on deciding a new build. I myself have the x370 strix and its a great board. You just have to make sure it's BIOS is updated to a more recent version to make sure it supports the 2nd gen ryzen processors.

As far as gpus go it will really depend where you're buying from. Prices are improving and can change even further. What resolution/framerate and settings are you hoping to play at? When you say $500 is that USD? Are you happy with buying from amazon/newegg?

one last thing i have noticed when looking for the 1070 ti.. there is about a 60 dollar difference between some of them. arent they all the same?? is the only difference the brand name like evga or asus etc?? or are there differences between them all???

The core clock on some of them are slightly overclocked. Other differences could be a different kind of fan setup for cooling. The rest is just the fact that certain brands are usually a little bit higher. Like a MSI is usually going to be more expensive than a Zotac with the same specifications even though there is nothing particularly wrong with Zotac cards.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it and just search out the best price I could find. If you want to OC it after you get it it's not hard to do yourself.
