I have a 750w power supply , i5 4460,msi atx z97 pc mate MB and a corsair carbide mid tower

With your build you should have no problem with a gtx 960, just dont get two and SLI them, your power supply wattage is only high enough for one card long term

How do you know if the 750W is a good Gold quality PSU or not? He could easily run 2 960s on a 750 watter.

Agreed, GTX 960 is best. I suggest the 4GB models.

I was wrong, the 960 has a much lower power consumption than I thought, his average load would be around 500W peak.
