Hello All!

This is my first time posting on this community. I have read a large amount of post in the last few years, since I am PC enthusiast and this forum has solved ton of my questions and problems.

In my conutry there is now an influx of chap (low end) i5 and i7 pre-built big name brand computer. eg. Lenovo, Hp, Simens etc.

I have a acquired one myself with intention of making it into something of a media pc that will be connected to my tv 24/7 ( I do not mean turned on 24/7).

The pc is Lenovo M90P SFF.

These are the components:

So I have been planing on upgrading RAM to 8 GB an that has worked like a charm no issue on that part, (on this picture it is 4GB since I am testing everything.).

Also I bought a brand new Saaphire AMD R5 230 2GB Vram with HDMI output as the main source of streaming. I know that I would be better of with something a bit better, but in this computer case only LP graphics can go in.

But as I said the graphic card seems not to be recognized at all from the computer, I can not even see bios or anything else. I tested it in my workstation and it seems to be running fine both linux and windows, just plug and play. I took it back to the store they tested in front of me it works like a charm. I bought a new power supply, 550W MS supply (it was the only one that can fit in this case) still no change. Tries fresh install of Windows still won't boot, tried completely removing all graphic drivers from the system still wont boot. Did all Windows updates, did all lenovo system updates still not luck. I am starting to think that he motherboard for some reason does not want to accept it but I have no clue why. So does anyone have any idea on what to do?

Sorry for the long post and greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina! :)

Solution
1. the current video card on the system is a Quadro FX 380LP with the following specification Quadro FX 380 LP: Bus Interface: PCIe 2.0 x16, Max Memory Size: 512 MB, Core Clock(s): 589 MHz, Memory Clock(s): 1600 MHz, Graphics API Support: DirectX 10.1 OpenGL 3.3 Max TDP: 28 W

2. you failed to mention the power supply power in wattage or if listed how many amps on the 12v rail if mentioned on the label the psu has.

3. the AMD R5 230 2GB is a 2018 video card and I will suspect right off the top it may require UEFI BIOS to work as your will know your system does not have UEFI BIOS, also as per their manufacturer web site this R5-230 required 400 Watt Power Supply ref...

i am having the same issue but one question the monitor is it plugged in the built in or the GPU and if it is on the GPU is it displaying ?
second check device manager display adapters right click and update driver screen shot when it stop downloading and installing and please send it here and finally check your HDD (where windows is installed) for errors if you don't know how (http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disk-error-checking-windows-8)

I suggest returning this video card and find a EVGA GeForce GT 710 2GB (Single Slot, Low Profile), it will be far more superior in processing power then that R5 230 anyways. and will run on a 300Watts power supply.

Here is the chart comparing the there video cards side by side.
