Make sure the items in the game's redist folder if it has one are installed, which typically include the DirectX version it uses, and the Visual Studio versions it uses.
If that doesn't work, verify the game file integrity in Steam, Uplay, Origins, whichever it's associated with.
If you still have no luck, try reinstalling the driver but with a clean install. Both AMD and Nvidia now have options for this where it uninstalls the old driver first. You can also try a driver uninstaller tool. Some prefer DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), but I use Driver Sweeper 3.2. I have found that DDU leaves traces behind, where Driver Sweeper does not.
