GraphicCard No Signal

So I have been using a HDMI display for the past 10 months with my Sapphire 7950 Vapor X card and recently it has stopped working.

I can plug in the HDMI cable into my onboard graphics and that works fine, however if I plug into the Graphics Card there is no signal registered on my Monitor, it just flickers from a HDMI input to Analog input back and forth and then stops completely.

I cannot see the BIOS screen settings when booting from the graphics card, it as if its not plugged in, yet it is still displayed in Device Manager.

This started to happen when a windows update was being installed from a boot up, not sure if thats the problem as I can still get video output from my onboard graphics.

I have tried changing PCI slots and also reinstalling drivers.

I have an ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 Mobo.

Please help

Connect the monitor to your integrated graphics and simply hold the delete key down during start-up - see if that takes you into the bios. Also if you have a DVI cable try that - it could be the HDMI connections at the card. I'm assuming the GPU fan is spinning up okay.

Plug the monitor into your onboard graphics and check the bios settings to make sure the video output is set to send a signal to the graphics card. Also make sure the card is properly plugged into the PCIE slot and the power connectors are pushed in fully. If that still does not work try putting the graphics card in a different PCIE slot (could be a dead MB PCIE slot) - ah just noticed you said you tried this. Finally if you have another graphics card you can test in the slot to determine if the issue is the MB or the card or something else. Try this and let us know what happens. A Windows update should not cause this kind of issue although who knows. You can also go into Device Manager and see if it tells you if the device is working correctly

Assuming you have not already tried (and also assuming your on-board video does not use HDMI), try a different HDMI cable.
I beat my head against a wall for days with a similar issue, and switching the HDMI cable as a last resort solved my issue.

Good luck.

I have checked device manager and it says its working fine. I have tried another HDMI cable that didnt help and i have just done a system restore but that didnt fix it either so it was not the windows update.

I dont have another graphics card to test as this is my first system. The card lights up and seems as if its working its just there is not signal coming from the HDMI port to my Samsung S27B750 Monitor.

I tried just then to get into my BIOS except i cannot see anything when i start up my computer as i think it used the GPU until Windows boots up which then it switches to the Integrated graphics, not sure what to do.
