Graphics Card Compatability

Hi,

Firstly thanks in advance.

I am looking to purchase a new graphics card. I currently have the following set-up 128GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS, 16GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge, and a MSI B75MA-P45 (MS-7798) motherboard.

I am looking to find out what type of graphics card I can buy, am I correct in assuming that version 3.0 x16 is the best interface available?

Also I know my motherboard supports v3.0 but not sure if its x8 or x16 compatible?

Let me know if you have any recommendations for someone who is looking to play GW2 Heart of Thorns with good/best appearance settings not looking to spend a fortune.

Your mobo uses gen 3 x16 so it won't be a problem.

Just make sure your psu will be able to give enough power.
