So my graphics card died literally 20 minutes ago, so i figure id take this chance to see what all i need to upgrade in addition to this card, so heres my specs:
Processor: Intel i7-4790 (3.6GHz)
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (now Dead)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI
RAM: G.Skill Sniper 8GB
Power Supply: EVGA Supernova 80+Gold 750W
OS: Windows 10 64x
Monitor: ASUS 1080p 144HZ

I mostly use this computer for gaming. Also I have heard a ton about the new 1080, and was wondering what all id need to do to upgrade to that.

Thank you all so much in advance!

Depending on the games you play, a 1070, 1080 or 1080 Ti can all have relevance, depending on the prices you can get them at. 1080p doesn't require a lot, but 144hz does demand a bit.

I have a 1070, and it can run most games on max settings 60 fps 1600p, which can be compared somewhat to 144 fps 1080p (GPU usage-wise), but a few games requires me to lower the settings a bit.

And other than your card, it doesn't really look that bad. I mean, sure, you could upgrade the CPU, which would then require you to to upgrade a lot of other stuff, I would focus on getting the new card first. If you find that the games you play don't manage to stay above 100 fps, then you could start to consider the rest of the rig. The CPU will very most probably bottleneck you when getting a new card, the question is just "how much?".

Simple Get a
GTX 1070 if budget is high!
GTX 1080 if budget is ultra high!
GTX 1060 for moderate range!

i would recommend 1070 cause its super powerfull and a little cheap in comparison to 1080 or 1080 ti.

1070, best bet you got , go for an msi one , or gigabyte, or even asus, but never something else.....an 1080 if you wanna be future proof, or a liquid cooled version for like 80 to 120 dollars more, your choice buddy
