Hello everyone,

I've recently bought a new PC and built it myself. Here are the components:

Motherboard: ASUS Z97-K
Processor: Intel Core I7 4790K, LGA1150
Power Supply: Corsair CS750M
SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 1TB
RAM: HyperX 8x2 (16GB)
Graphics Card; ASUS STRIX NVidia GeForce GTX 980 4GB (2 Coolers)

I installed the OS and the drivers for each of the components in the computer. The problem is, when i tried to install the driver for the graphics card, the installer said that there was an error, that it could not install the drivers because there was "No compatible product installed on the PC", so i thought that maybe some cable might have disconnected during the installation, i checked the computer quickly and i saw the Video Card actually working (fans spinning and power lights on). Of course when i install the HDMI in the Card slot, it does not display anything on the monitor so, i had to install the drivers to make it work, i thought.

Now here goes the weird part: When i check the device manager and i click to show display devices it only shows me the graphics device included in the motherboard, which i have been using this whole time to use the PC. I know it's not supposed to just show the graphics card, i need to click the "Show hidden devices" option, but it's also hidden. It is as if the graphics card is just "invisible" to the motherboard, like the motherboard does not recognize that the graphics card is installed in his slot. I double checked if the GTX was connected to the PSU and properly working, and i checked the BIOS if the graphics card is shown there, but no signal of it. Maybe it's not compatible, but that would be impossible since where i bought it, the components are already given like that.

Please i have no idea of what to do, and i fear that it's broken, the graphics card is the most expensive component in my PC and i need it fixed ASAP. Help me, give me some answers, what do i have to do, any kind of help is appreciated.

It worked!!! thank you so much. Although i have this problem now, the first slot does not work, is it because the motherboard came like that? Because I want to have my other slot in my motherboard just in case, you know.

Then I believe that the slot may be broken. Try RMA?
