Hello,
I have two monitors, with one vga and one with dvi output. My graphics card has only dvi inputs. So I bought a vga/dvi adapter. But the computer acts as if the monitor attached via the adapter isn't there, it doesn't detect it at all.
I actually bought two adapters, neither worked. Furthermore, my monitor with a dvi output also has a vga output, and if I try to connect this previously working monitor to the graphics card via the vga adapter it doesn't work either.
Of course it is possible that the adapters are not working (cheap ebay purchase) but are there other possible reasons? Does a graphics have have to be enabled in some way (either software or in the bios) to accept 'vga' input, even if they are coming in via a dvi port? Does that even make sense!?
Thanks!
