Graphics card failure when playing older games

I have had this issue for a while, but only with older games. I run Win 7 and have an ASUS B-350-PLUS motherboard, with an AMD Ryzen 3 1300x processor and a Geforce GTX 560 graphics card. I run 8GB of Kingston ValueRam.

The strange thing is I can play recent games just fine. Mass Effect Andromeda, The Sims 3 and 4, Planet Coaster, Fallout 4... it all works flawlessly. But the moment I try to run an old game, by example Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 or TES: Morrowind, I can barely play that the screen goes black with flickering white lines. I think the computer still works, because any sound in the back still plays normally, but it's unresponsive. It's like being blind, but still being able to operate the computer.
Because of this I can only do a hard reset by pressing the button to power off.

It's really annoying, because I bought many older games I'd love to play, and even by playing with the compatibility settings, running in 256 colors, etc. nothing seems to work; the screen goes black, and only when running these old games. I can play hours doing anything else and it never crashes like that.
What can I do to fix this?
