Graphics Card for Dell Inspiron 3847

Solution
Thats fine, but it will still draw power through the board, approximately 75W at load, which happens often with GPU's. Meaning your system will likely need to draw at least 150-200W total, meaning your PSU has to be up to par. It may it may not, but you want a guarantee, which you won't know until you try it out.

Like I said theoretically it SHOULD work. But I can't say definitely as Dell PSUs are usually budget no name PSUs there is no guaranteeing it will absolutely work.

If you wanted an absolute guarantee you should invest in a good PSU as well.
It looks like there is a PCIe slot available on the motherboard, so assuming it isn't blocked the card will install.

The problem would be the Power Supply. Is this one of those PCs with an external power box or is there a physical power supply in the tower?

If so that has me concerned that the PC won't fully power a graphics card, especially since it does not come with one installed, you may need to upgrade or add a power supply.

In either case you would be limited to a GPU that does not require an addition power connector. Which most 1050's do not need.

I don't respond to private email questions, as someone might have the same issue as you.

You said you have a 300W PSU but unfortunately that does not really mean anything, as there is no regulation that requires wattage ratings to actually deliver what they are marketed to. Theoretically you should "be good" but really that is not a guarantee. If that's what you are looking for before you buy it, you are out of luck without buying a solidly rated aftermarket power supply.
