Hello Everyone, I first off hope this post finds you in good health & spirits 🙂

I just purchased a Dell OptiPlex 760 Mini Tower (Full Size) I checked the pics to verify. Plus my prior computer was a OptiPlex 745 Mini Tower (full size)

Games are starting to use more than two cores, so it would be a good idea to look into upgrading to a core 2 quad if possible. You can buy one used on ebay or amazon. I don't think overclocking will do much, and it's very unlikely that a Dell will have a motherboard that is overclock friendly.
First of all, what games are you playing? Every game in existence right now will run with a graphics card that is less powerful than the gtx 670. You might be able to add the 670 if you have the OptiPlex 760 that has the wider style case, but you will have to replace the power supply with a good 500 watt PSU, and you will have a huge bottleneck with the processor you have so a lot of the money you put into buying the 670 will be wasted since you won't get good performance.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I have been doing some research and I am assuming since your saying that I should go with a intel dual quad core that this optiplex has the 775 chipset and if so this is the best one I've found: intel q9650

I installed the quad processor.. Didn't get your message until after you have posted. The quad processor didn't work. I flashed the board and tried that rought with no success. I cleared the cmos and that didn't work as well. I thank you for the info. I am at a realization that I am just gonna sell this piece of garbage OEM on ebay and dump it and build a amd from the ground up that I can at least do what I want too do with it.

I just want too add that I thank everyone for your assistance in helping me with the dead end OEM and wish you all a bless day & evening

For Reference: LGA 775 Quad Core will NOT work in North Bridge Intel Q45/Q43
