Graphics card giving no output,but Int. graphics working

I was out of town for few days and when i came back i started my pc and there was no display.
Then i connected the VGA cable to the integrated graphics port and the pc booted perfectly.
The system is working fine with integrated graphics.

I have a Radeon HD 5670 and it is heating up normally and the fan is also moving.I can see the connected card in device manager.The card was working fine couple of days ago as i finished playing Assassin's Creed IV on max settings with this.
I haven't even moved or touched the Chassis .
I am using a DVI to VGA adapter which came with card for connecting vga cable of display.
The card is old and out of warranty ,so no RMA is possible.

And the weird thing is that GPU-Z is detecting my card still,so my card is alright.yes?

I have done following things to fix the fault:
1.took the card out of pcie port and cleaned the pcie connector and then placed it back on.
2.checked the RAM sticks,both were working fine.
3.took out the cmos battery and reset the bios.
4.Gave priority to external graphics in bios.

Nothing has worked so far.
Is there possibility that the PCIE port is faulty? Or is it definitely the card.
Please guide me.I don't want to spend money without a reason.

Try to use a cable without the converter, Try the VGA if you have to. Also re seat the card. Also while the PC is on, hook up another monitor if possible and see if Windows detects the monitor.

The card gives DVI output and i don't have a DVI input display so i can't directly connect display to card ,i have to use a converter.But to be on the safe side i will try to get my hands on a new converter.

As i already explained in my Question that i took out the card and cleaned the card ,and port and then re-seated it
carefully several times.
I am using the integrated graphics to get my pc to work right now,so are you saying to connect another display to my graphics card also and then see if both integrated and external graphics both work at the same time? Is that even possible
If not then i wasn't able to understand the last lines of your answer.

I seen Converters act all weird, I ran into a few times with older monitors, I even ran into a video card the converter didn't work on but works on others, but a different 1 did work.

They are cheap anyway.

What does your card look like, I guess you have a card with 2 DVI ports? Or does it have a VGA as well? Make sure the cable is plugged into fully on the back of the monitor. You could try something like this, HDMI to VGA http://www.amazon.com/A-Sonic-HDMI-HD15-Male-Cable/dp/B001OLCHJ6

But all in all, Try a different converter, If it still don't work, return the converter and try a different VGA cable, if that doesn't work then your gonna have to try a new cable that plugs into a different spot.

I seen ports die on video cards, could be possibly the issue.

Also whats the make and model of your monitor?

I have inspected the card and there are no visible burns and no blown capacitors.

My display is "Samsung SyncMaster 923NW" and i have been using it since 2009 so it just have one port which is VGA.It is working fine with the integrated graphics of Motherboard ,i have not experienced even a single flicker since i bought it.And the VGA cable must also be OK as it is working right now without fail.

I seen Converters act all weird, I ran into a few times with older monitors, I even ran into a video card the converter didn't work on but works on others, but a different 1 did work.

As for the converter and port i think that can be the problem .So i will buy a hdmi to vga converter asap .
