- GeForce GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 8GB PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, Triple DP
- GeForce GTX 980 SuperClocked ACX 2.0 Gaming 4GB PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, Triple DP
What's the difference and what's better? The 1070 is actually 10$ cheaper and more recent! I'm kind of tempted to get that one..

Solution
Get the 1070, it is a better card. Drivers will continue to improve the performance of the 10xx Nvidia cards, and newer games will benefit from the new architecture, so the gap will continue to grow between the 980 and 1070.

Yes, that is a very good PSU. Unless you have lots of other components in your PC (4+HDDs, 4+fans, PCI cards, etc), 500w should be enough if you do not overclock anything. What CPU do you have?

The 1070 would be better as it requires less power than the 980, so it provides you with a small buffer on power. The 980 will almost max out your PSU, leaving very little headroom.

Your PSU is fine. It can power all of that without any problems. That looks like about 350w max even with a 980.

I would still recommend getting the 1070 as it is slightly better and newer.

OH, and I forgot, double the VRAM! This will be important in newer games. If the 1070 is cheaper this is a no brainer, get it!

I would get the EVGA GTX 1070 FTW I am it's a better card and RGB.

I was looking at the EVGA GTX 1070 ACX 3.0. It's going for $570, which is better than the 980! There are other cards there but I'm poor! XD. RGB is cool but it's not really that important to me. I have the Apex350 keyboard that lights up and that's good enough for me! ;p

The EVGA GTX 1070 FTW is a great card! RGB is cool but only if you have a windowed case and your system is nice and clean all the time, and you like to show it to people.

I would not care for RGB as it makes not difference in performance.

Clock speed is different on the ftw. FTW has two bioses. Cooling is the same on both. Vrm is different on the ftw. FTW includes RGB led while the sc doesn't. Ftw does have better clocks and in my country, they are the same.

You guys know anything about monitors? I need one and the VP239H-P 23in Widescreen LED LCD IPS w/ Speakers by Asus is going for like $130. Is it worth it? Will it go well with my build, specs wise?

I ma assuming you will play at 1080p although 1440p will be better with the 1070 it will go 60+fps on ultra. but if still want 1080p then I would recommend the asus vg248qe is a 144hz monitor to fully utilize the 1070s power.

I'll get that damn monitor you mentioned... it's only 200 and it's a big difference in quality... man I'm gonna be so broke after this... I'm spending 2k in one shot... oh well! That's the price of gaming technology these days I guess!
