So after the build and upon initial startup, there were thin white lines thoughout the screen. Sometimes they went almost completely away and moved around the screen. After installing Windows the graphics card isn't updating or functioning properly. In device manager, the nvidia card is recognized but with an exclamation citing a code 43 error. The monitor is a 24" HD Asus but in the device manager it's says it is a generic monitor. The drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled from the website and nvidia's program that updates the driver. When the computer restarts it doesn't reboot fully, just a screen with white lines. We have tried removing and reinserting the graphics card to no avail.
It is installed in the top PCIE slot. There is a second PCIE available which we haven't tried. Could the RAm be in the wrong spot or the cpu heat sink not be installed properly? Any help would be awesome.

I've ran into Code 43 several times. I've never been able to solve it. I ended up selling my card as "not working" on eBay and bought a new card.

Your monitor is showing up as "Generic Monitor" because the information isn't flowing from the monitor hardware to your motherboard. Your graphics card is supposed to relay that info along, so this shows its failing to do so. The artifacts you are seeing on the screen are from the card, and not the monitor. But just to be sure I'd try and eliminate a few things here: Try using a different graphics card from a buddy. Also, try your card in your buddy's machine if you can. See any differences?

Different PCIe slot wouldn't hurt to try, but I doubt it'll fix your issue. If you have identified...

Different PCIe slot wouldn't hurt to try, but I doubt it'll fix your issue. If you have identified the card as the issue, then I'd return it or send it in for repairs, if its under warranty. In my experience, if you have a RAM issue, your computer would POST at all, so the fact that you're able to load Windows shows that isn't the case. (Same goes for CPU heat sink.)

Hope this helps. And good luck! :wahoo:
