For the past few days, my graphics card has been heating up extremely easily, and often causes a black screen crash even in the least GPU-intensive games.

I have...
-reinstalled and updated drivers
-cleaned out the tower of dust and debris

Is there any other things I could do to improve this? Games I used to play for hours on end I can't even play for 2 minutes before a crash.

just re-apply the thermal paste and make sure the fan is actually spinning. You can also get something like msi afterbuner and create a custom fan profile to make sure the fan is spinning up to high speeds under load.
What graphics card is it? What are the temperatures you measured on the gpu?
If you have cleaned the dust from it and the fan is working, the next step is to remove the heatsink and reapply the thermal paste. Clean all the old paste off and get something like noctua nt-h1 thermal paste (i use nt-h1 over AS5 as it has no curing time) and reapply it to the gpu (google search it theres tonnes of how-to's for this). Your gpu should run cool now.

Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GT 620

I used to be able to run games, like World of Warcraft, for hours on end. just did a test, now it runs at max 20 minutes before crashing.

Temperature wise, it usually goes to about 105 before crashing. It seems to steadily rise from about 60, just starting up the battlenet launcher.
