I downloaded the Final Fantasy 14:A Realm Reborn Benchmark to test the Nvidia Geforce GTX670 FTW LE graphics card that I recently received from EVGA as an RMA (this is not the same graphics card I had previously because I did a cross-ship RMA). When I ran the benchmark, everything worked fine for a few minutes but then the computer shut off. After the computer restarted, the monitor goes into sleep mode and all the fans seemed to run at max.
I tried to see where the problem is, so here is what I found after playing around with my build.
- Only the graphics card fan is at max.
- When the monitor is connected to the graphics card, it goes to sleep.
- When the monitor is connected to the motherboard, it operates normally.
- Device manager shows a Generic VGA Card when the graphics card is put in, and I have all
the drivers installed.
- I tried to re-install all the drivers, but the installation disk does not recognize the graphics
card.
Here are the specs for my computer
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 - 4670K Haswell 3.4GHz
MB: ASUS Z87-A Motherboard
GPU: EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX670 FTW LE
PSU: Corsair CX750M 750W 80 Plus Bronze
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB)
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2
HDD/SDD: Seagate Hybrid Drive ST2000DX001 2TB
Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST DVD Burner
Monitor: HP W2072a LED-Backlit LCD Monitor
Fans: 2 x Corsair Air Series SP120 Quiet Edition 120mm
2 x Case Fans
Case: Ultra Etorque X4 Mid-Tower Gaming Case
This is my first build, so I am not too knowledgeable.
I really just want the graphics card to work normally again, but it would be great to find a solution for why my computer shut off too.
Thanks for the help.
