Hi so I have a DIAMOND AMD Radeon 7970 HD and i have the PCI-E cables properly hooked in and the fan on the graphics card is spinning, but whenever I install the drivers from AMD's website it doesn't install the catalyst manager or the drivers for the graphics card for some reason. I've even tried downloading the drivers straight from DIAMOND's website and still no luck.

Can anyone think of any reason that it wouldn't install the drivers properly?

Thank you.

I do not have the CD that came with the driver unfortunately.

When I use the autodetect feature it says my operating system isn't compatible for some reason but its a genuine windows 7 OS. I don't see why it says that which bothers me a lot.

Under display adapters it says Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000.

By the way, I have my HDMI coming through my motherboard into my monitor. When i have it coming through my graphics card I do not get any signal coming through.

Yeah your computer is not even detecting the card. Its showing up as nothing in the PCIE slot even though your fans are spinning (has happened too me too, it sucks lol). These are gonna be generic but this is a checklist that pretty much everyone is going to tell you:

-Reseat graphics card into case\reconnect PCIE pins
-Try another PCIE slot if you can
-Check monitor\cables
-Make sure onboard graphics is disabled\PCIE is your primary graphics in BIOS
-Run driver sweeper or equivalent to get rid of possible conflicting drivers
-Test the card in another computer to make sure it works
-If it works in another computer your power supply might be an issue as well
-Reset CMOS
-If all else fails do a BIOS update (LAST RESORT)

Your card should give out a display even if it doesn't have drivers.

I'm going to be trying all these things tonight, I will get back to you afterwards and tell you if it has been solved or not.

I really appreciate the contribution!

So I've tried all of these and even gave AMD a call to ask if they can assist me in anyway and the person said that the graphics card may be defective just from the fact that it gives no signal when I insert an HDMI or any other video source into it.

Do you think this also might be the case then?

If you tried ALL of them (including testing in another system, very important in this case) then yes. I would assume that is the problem. Sorry 🙁
