Graphics card or something else?

In the last week or two my computer was either freezing when playing games or on the internet OR the monitor turned of like i just turned off the computer. Can you please help?

Edit:and ibwant to know what gpu is better for games like skyrim, battlefield 3 with high settings?

Download a software that allows you to monitor the temperature of your video card and CPU, like HWMonitor and let us know what temperature your card is reaching. It does sound like it's a problem with the video card. Either the card is overheating or it is just gone bad and is dying.

I have a program called speccy and i can remember that the graphics card reached no more then 50-60 degrees.
(i cant do it know because if i will play a game my computer will freeze and ill have to turn it off)
Edit: on the other hand my cpu gets to 70-80 degrees really quick when i play games)

I did this i think last week.
The thing is i remember that i wanted to clean my graphics card fan but i couldnt take it out so my father helped me and on the procces he took out one of those round things on the card with the + and- on it
Sorry for the so many edits: after that i did put it back and everyting worked great until last week or two

Which CPU is it? For the older processors 70-80C is more than hot enough to cause it to shut itself down to prevent damage.

The round thing is a battery i think and yes he put it back. My cpu is anthelon II x4 965

If the CPU is still getting to 70 or 80C AT ANY TIME you must urgently clean out its cooler and replace the thermal compound because the processor is getting so hot it is shutting itself off to prevent damage.

I just played minecraft with cpeccy open to monitor the temparture and it got to 77-78 and after i exit the game it droped to 44-47 degrees or maybe even lower and thats with the case open or closed!

The thing is im playing war thunder right now with speccy running in the backgroung and everyting is ok. How?
And how can i lower the temperture?

The easiest thing you can do to help keep your PC cool is to give it a little breathing room by removing any obstacles to air flow.

Make sure there's nothing sitting right against any side of the computer, especially the back. Most of the hot air flows out of the back end of the computer case. There should be at least 2 to 3 inches open on either side and the back should be completely open and unobstructed.

My friends from custom application development say that if your computer is hidden away inside a desk, make sure the door isn't closed all the time. Cool air enters from the front and sometimes from the sides of the case. If the door is closed all day, hot air tends to recycle inside the desk, getting hotter and hotter the longer the computer is running.

Different games load the computer in different ways, as far as I know Minecraft uses the CPU quite heavily, making it work hard and increasing the temperature.
The best way to lower the CPU temperature is to remove the heatsink, clean it, clean off the old, grey thermal compound from the heatsink and CPU using a paper towel moistened in a cleaning solvent such as pure alcohol (not rubbing alcohol) and to apply fresh thermal compound before reassembling.

If you do this yourself be very careful about removing the heatsink, it will be stuck to the CPU, do NOT simply pull it, lift it with moderate force and twist left and right to free it, if you pull too hard it is possible to pull the CPU out of its socket and that WLL damage some of those tiny pins which are, from personal experience very, very difficult to straighten.
