Graphics Card Problem

I've got a HP Probook 4520s which I bought in 2011.I was 9 years old then so I wasn't able to decide whether to buy a PC or a laptop,back then I thought that a laptop is the same as a pc and I got it.It can play games like mw3 in the highest resolutions but sometimes the screen turns black for about 10 secs.The graphics card is an Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5470...it has 512Mb of memory and approximately 13 gb/s memory bandwidth...is this why the gpu stucks for a small amount of time?I'm going to buy a pc now but I was wondering why does this happen to my laptop.

it can be a driver problem with the laptop or the resolutions to high
