Hey everyone, I have a PC that I built mainly as an HTPC with no real graphical power. It did run Diablo III fairly well, but I'd love to be able to play SimCity so that it looks as beautiful as it should. Yes, I know there are lots of problems with the game, but I plan on waiting until it gets sorted out.

The processor is an Intel i3-2100 with integrated HD2000 graphics.

The power supply is 400W.

Is there a decent graphics card, at a reasonable price, that can be added to my system?
Thanks!

EDIT - FULL SPECS:

MOBO: Gigabyte z68ma d2h b3
Processor: Intel i3-2100 w/ integrated HD2000 graphics
PSU: Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W
RAM: 8GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series
Case: Silverstone GD04

I agree, why would people want to support EA's horrible business model, crippling their games on purpose, and treating customers like criminals?

A different option is to go used. I got my HD 5870 for $80 on craigslist and it is a better card according to Tom's Heirarchy list than whats been suggested so far.

As far as Simcity goes. The servers are an issue currently but that will subside. I've been playing every night since release and only once was I unable to log in.

Once in it's a great game and well worth playing. Enjoy!

A 5870 is pretty power hungry, and not likely to be in the 40-50 dollar range. Quick e-bay search put it at about 150 bucks at the cheapest (seems you got a great deal). Anand also has the total machine power use at about 350 watts with a 5870 installed, putting it dangerously close to his PSU's maximum rated 12v output. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/511?i=413.412.414.415 . . . so in that case he would probably need a power supply too.

Ah gotcha, thank you for the correction! I'm surprised it's selling for that much. I sold a 560 TI for $120 (long story) and that was about the going rate for those and an HD 5870 is about equal to a 560 Ti I believe. Maybe prices have gone up on used since the announcement the next gen cards are delayed till next winter.
Well on that note I'll just say, don't forget to checked used if you're willing. You may find a great deal like I did :)
