Ok so I've wanted to upgrade my graphics card for a while now (I have an R9 280). I think that I have now decided what my final choices are going to be: Gigabyte Aorus RX 570 4GB (https://goo.gl/A3m8hX ~237€), Sapphire Pulse RX 580 4GB (https://goo.gl/nxoYCd ~268€), and Zotac's AMP (https://goo.gl/996u4w ~284€) and Mini (https://goo.gl/7XmWPq - 268€) 1060s - 6GB both (I don't know if the AMP edition is worth almost 20€ more).
I will mainly use it to play AAA games like GRW, SE4, GTA V, FCP, BF1 etc. in 1080p with highest settings possible while still being playable (over 30 fps), and sometimes maybe video and image editing. For the record I have an i5-4460, Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3, 8 GBs of RAM and a Corsair CX750M.

GTA V has always done better on nvidia.

I know that in some games Nvidia is going to do better while in others AMD will. What I need help with is whether one is more future-roof than the others for example, I mean the 1060 has 6 GB of VRAM but the amd cards have 4 each or whether the more expensive cards are worth the extra money and things like that which would help me decide. Also anyone's experience with any of these cards would be appreciated.

You mention demanding AAA games, so a 580 or 1060 6gb should be your choices. Between a 4gb 580 and a 6gb 1060, I'd go for the 1060. You don't have to buy the most expensive model though. The Amp version has higher clocks with better cooling, do you need that? Probably not. Both cards are still 1060s and both will perform much the same in real world use.

The difference in most games between the RX 570 and RX 580 is like 5 fps or less, so now that I think about it if I'm going to give more money it's going to be for the 1060. But again the 1060 is not hands down the best, in some games it is better, in some it isn't. The only concern I have about the 570 is the 4 GBs of ram, otherwise I would go with it without even thinking about it. What is your opinion about the ram? I mean, in how long will 4 GBs of VRAM be considered "little" and not be enough?

a 1060 6gb would be ~28% faster on average than a rx 570

so more like +15 fps difference

Well in theory yes, but I've watched comparison videos and honestly in some games the 570 has more fps than the 1060 and the biggest difference when the 1060 has more is 10 fps, so it definitely depends on the game.

well you also need to take into account whether they are stock or overclocked out of the factory

Here's one of the videos I watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnSP91T-68s (Sapphire NItro+ RX 570 vs MSI Gaming X GTX 1060)

Also I kinda prefer AMD cards in general because of the software and the overclock potential, but yeah it won't be the end of the world if I get an Nvidia one I guess
