My PC suddenly turned off when I turned it back on the graphics card seemed to have died I removed it and booted it up from the CPUs built in graphics works fine....
I then tried this graphics card in my other PC there was nothing so I just assumed the card had blown, however when I plugged my working graphics card back in nothing...it appears the card has blown the pci-E slot in both my pc's.....I've never heard of this happening before?

Solution
Bit confused what is happening here, you tested the system with a known working second video card and it also did not work? Try a second PCIe slot, try to reset the BIOS on your system and test again with that known good card.

Yes a failed card or a failed power supply can kill the PCIe slot as well.
