[SOLVED] graphics card wont fit did i mess up

Solution
As per qwerky's instructions, the second pci slot cover needs to be removed. It's the grated metal rectangle below the open hole you're trying to put the gpu in. Just push it in, it'll snap off.
oh.... perhaps your graphics card is the thickness of two slots, but you only have the one slot removed from the back where the ports come out of the PC?
You probably need to remove a second bracket slot for the rear, otherwise it's getting in the way of the GPU fully pushing up against the back of the case.
 
Is the metal bracket circled below hitting the motherboard? A couple people I know didn't realize that metal bracket slips between the motherboard and the case. I circled the little "port" it goes between in the second image
