Graphics card worse when overclocking

Hey guys, so I been trying to convince myself that my GPU works better when I overclock it, but that is actually not the case. I think it just getting worse when I overclock it because i get lower FPS when I play dota 2. Considering I know how overclocking works and done everything right, what do you guys think the problem is? Thanks I would appreciate your comments and opinion.

What have you changed?Voltage? Ram clock?
List your system specs please,would help us greatly.

What i think is happening is thermal throttling,clean your gpu cooling system and try again

The power supply in that HP system is only rated at 300 watts, which is the minimum that GPU requires. I would suggest upgrading the PSU and see where that gets you.

I'm so sorry, the PSU is also upgrade to 500 watts, i forgot to mention. My apologies
