Graphics Cards AMD? or Nvidia?

Hey guys so I just redid my system with an AMD FX 8350 and an MSI motherboard but I need a graphics card as a GTX 650 ti will not cut. Im not sure weather to go with AMD or Nvidia nor with which card I should go with I was thinking of a GTX 970 but my friend that is a PC expert said don't. Im not sure so what do you guys think i can possibly hold out for the new AMD cards the 3xx series but damn im so confused

At 1920x1080 , GTX 970 is the best bang for the buck . and there wont be any FPS drops

The R9-290 and 290x are also very good value now and almost equal or equal to the 970.

It depends mostly on your location and local prices.
As it`s been said before, the best bang for your buck is the GTX 970, and if this tell you something, I upgraded from an R9 280x to a GTX 970.

Try not to think about this GPU upgrade as an AMD vs Nvidia "contest", but more like "What card will give me the best performance for my budget?"

Local prices can be different from country to country, so it might be better to go with an R9 rather than a GTX card.

A few things to consider, if you don`t know already:
- The GTX 9XX run cooler, and are more power efficient;
- The R9 2xx run hotter, and consume more power.

In order for us to know better what to recommend you, give us the model and wattage of your PSU.

For your GPU, go NVIDIA. Get a GTX 970 or above for awesome performance. If I were you. I would have paid the extra 50 bucks for an Intel I5 4690k. Wayyy better for gaming than the AMD FX-8350.

I have a 1200 watt rosewill power supply power wont be an issue neither will cooling as I have a case with 13 fans XD

I refuse to give intel any more of my money a few years back they dicked me out of 1900 hundred dollars. their unstable I5 2500k I bought on their release day blew my system completely lost everything

GTX 970 won't be useful if you're using more than 1080p. Don't forget the lies Nvidia told people about "4gb fail". At 1440p you'll likely see problems if its pushing beyond 3.5gb.

Im going to go for the GTX 970 for now I guess its good but I feel like I should have went R9 290x but when the time comes and NVidia has more new cards ill drop the 970 into my HPTC and wish it the best XD
