Graphics cards for a single CAD and Gaming rig.

I'm going to build a CAD Station/Gaming rig, and I'd like to sacrifice nothing in either department if that's possible.

Building separate rigs is totally possible. But I'd just stuff the two into a single home-made case because, I guess a single rig with both would be more pompous.

So I was wondering if running two cards would be desirable? If so, what would one recommend?

What would be the grossest misuse of money without going over the top and compromising performance?

As I searched towards the web I think the card that is most suitable for you is the 7970 GHz card. It is both strong on gaming and GPU compute.

I use Solidworks and other CAD systems almost daily for many years. I,and many others have tried to find a single GPU to do both CAD & gaming well. You would be the first to do so to my knowledge. I believe you will find that the hardware is very capable or running both but the drivers are diametrically opposed. Good luck. If you find a solution, please let the rest of us know.

you can also try the nvidia geforce 580gtx.
there is a rumour nvidia forgot to lock some features on that card, so it beats some professional graphic cards.... also it is a gaming beast
