I have a couple computers that are being dedicated to different tasks. 1 is a SFF Lenovo tower that I am attempting to re-purpose for a Plex/Kodi client. It's a bit sluggish with HEVC files with a 1.6 Ghz Pentium, J3710 soldered to the board. I was looking at a GT 1030, since it has hardware HEVC and can output 4K...and it's 4K netflix compatible but not too worried about the netflix thing my internet is too slow to stream 480p.

Also I have another machine that is a dedicated emulator box with a front end installed and it's like a giant Raspberry PI with retropi installed. I'd like to get better performance for PS2 and GCN emulators at 1080p, the GTX 750 ti is loud, and I drop frames all over the place. I do have the fastest CPU for the motherboard installed an Athlon X4 860K. Was looking at a GTX 1050, maybe. I know Intel is preferred for this application, but the machine was already in my possession. Would SLI improve things?

Looking for similar cards, to weigh my options before dropping the ball. For the Lenovo, HEVC is a bit necessary since I am moving my media to HEVC, at least the High Def content. I don't wana spend a lot because at a certain price point, it'd be easier to just get a Roku Premiere + or Ultra.

Anyone wana chime in with suggestions?

a 860k with a 750 ti should be more then enough for pcsx2, if you are having issues its either human error or temp related
