Recently updated my graphics drivers and afterwards my GPU was not detected and I havent been able to get it working again since. I decided to wipe the drivers and fresh install them. (Used CCcleaner before reinstalling). AMD autodetect said it detected no GPU and alarmingly said it detected no Operating system (windows 7 Ultimate).
Ive tried this again after reseating the gpu in the pcie slot but to no avail.
Tried installing specific drivers but the installer crashed part way through with the following:

Not sure where to go from here short of formatting my drives and reinstalling windows ( not a feasible option atm)
Build is 2 years old and has had no problems short of replacing the psu 2 months ago.
Any help is appreciated.

Dont reinstall windows yet 😉

Try this:

1- Get driver cleaner pro from the net
2- uninstall drivers from control panel
3- reboot system into safe mode
4- use driver cleaner pro; select the company name your drivers are from (e.g ATI/AMD), and press clean
5- once that is done, reboot into normal mode (your display may change resolution but will still work)
6- Install the new drivers
7- restart PC to use the new display drivers and set it according to your needs

Have tried the above multiple times and DDU seems to hang (left going for 1hr+) part way through.
Copy of log:

OS: Windows 7 or Server 2008r2

Uninstalling AMD driver ...
DDUDR Remove Display Driver: Complete.
Executing Driver Store cleanUP(Find OEM)...
-f dp_delete "oem23.inf"

Any tips?

Not quite sure why DDU is hanging?

There are procedures for manually removing the drivers and folders here and an abbreviated procedure here.

Read and follow the procedures carefully.

There is also another AMD driver removal utility here.

Note that if AMD chipset and/or other AMD products used, then the removal procedure(s) may remove these other drivers as well. So if AMD chipset and/or other AMD products used also (apart from video card), then reinstall chipset and other drivers before installing latest AMD video card drivers.

I do have an and processor also. I'm not sure about why the uninstaller is hanging but it might be related to why many functions like .NET framework and direct x also take a very long time to install sometimes. I will try the uninstaller you gave and then come back.

So the drivers seem to be fully uninstalled at this point. I'm still running into the problem from above where the AMD auto detect utility will not find my gpu or operating system and as such wont function.

CPU drivers are installed and up to date.
My gpu drivers still wont install.
Autodetect wont run.
AMD catalyst install crashes about half way through.
