Hi guys - I have been tearing my hair out for a couple weeks now trying to work this out - PC is i5-4690k, 8gm RAM, MSI GTX 970, Gigabyte Z79P-D3 mobo, 500w PSU, all attached to a 2560x1080 (21:9) acer monitor (60hz) via HDMI or DVI Dual link cables (HDMI when I require sound from monitor)
I can run an easy 60fps (MSI afterburner reading) on every game at ultra/high settings but while reading 60fps, I get this small stutter - Its pretty much ever second, it jumps/stutters a frame - Now I play racing games so when in monitor, it really breaks the smoothness of gameplay and once you notice it, I can't un-notice it! I have tried EVERYTHING on these forums regarding microstutter, input lags etc to try sort it but nothing has changed. BUT, when I plug my PC in to my 60hz Toshiba TV (3:2 ratio, Runs 1080p, but I got it for free so it's not great not very good quality wise!) it runs smoothly - no stutters what so ever!
I am now wondering if this is a issue with my monitor- Does this consistent stutter (about a second between each slight stutter), sound like a monitor on it's way out? Or could it be something to do with HDMI/DVI dual link? Would a displayport cable help? Or is there anything you can think of that I may have missed?
I have tried most software potential fixes. Every driver is up to date before you ask!
Any help would be hugely appreciated!!
