I just spent 1,200 on a new gaming pc. It has an i5 4570 3.2ghz and an R9 280x graphics card. I looked at many benchmarks before purchasing and all bench marks stated that it should get excellent FPS. I recently tried playing just cause 2 at high settings and only got 5fps. I'm really worried about this. It's fresh out of the box so i'm wondering if i have to do something first? thanks.

Solution

First plug your monitor cable to graphics card DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort and look in BIOS PCI-E settings.

Pardon my ignorance but do you do that?? there's only one spot on the case where the monitor plugs into.

If he didn't plug PSU cables the whole system won't run! So he probably plugged them!

If he just didn't plug in the power connector for the GPU wouldn't it still run just off the iGPU?

No PC will freeze at start up with alert message
