Question Green bar of death, broken windows explorer...troubleshoot help please

Hi,

Since last October/November my windows explorer randomly stops working properly. Sometimes it happens in minutes sometimes after hours of use. I only use pc for 2d and 3d CAD work.

The issue is:
  1. All of a sudden I start getting green bar of death if I try to open any folder.
  2. The thumbnails in the folders,desktop, etc.. aren't loading (if I opened the folder before this started happening the thumbnails will show but if I didn't open that folder before it will not display things properly.)
  3. Any new file that I save will not give me thumbnail preview and sometimes when this starts happening I won't even be able to save a file I have been working on. The program will simply stop responding when trying to save anything
  4. I noticed that in windows explorer I only get quick access in left panel (no this pc or any other folder when the error starts happening)

I tried a lot of things already. Disable search, indexing, cortana, etc...I used system file checker, all updates are up to date at all times and I even tried reinstalling windows (I think I did reset)
The PC is homebuilt and is about a year old and originally built from brand new components. Please have a look at the pictures that show the issue I am having linked down below.

Could it be hardware error? I have 1tb hybrid drive. Error checking came up with no errors found.
 
O I run SFC and it came with- Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations
And I installed malwarebytes and the scan results are 0 threads found.

All this started happening since that October windows update I think it was and I tried to go back to previous versions but I had no luck there so I reset windows and it worked for a while but then it started happening again.
 
under add/remove program I can only see 1 update for win10 (KB4023057)
and if I open update history and then uninstall updates I can see 7 windows updates and the last one is from 17th december (kb4470502)

I reinstalled windows around that time. It might have been in December. I am confused as to whether I will be able to go back to 1803 version if I unistall all updates but I will give it a go tomorrow and see what happens.
 
Ok so I uninstalled updates but I haven't been able to rollback to 1803 version. I think I would need to restore windows or reinstall and I can't be bothered to do that. Assuming the issue is caused by one of the updates then a solution for a problem is simply waiting for a new update that will fix it or am I wrong?

Can you think of anything else that could be causing the problem apart from windows updates?

This only works if you have updated the windows in past 10 days after that it won't work so its too late for me. I guess The only option would be a complete reinstall again but taking into account how many softwares I would have to download and install again I think I will just wait for a new updates that will fix it
