Hi. I woke up this morning and found my 22" Asus Widescreen monitor showing my Windows 7 screen with small dotted lines across the screen (if it matters, the dotted lines appear reddish on a white background and greenish on a blue background. They sort of disappear on a light green or light pink background). Initially I thought this must be a Windows 7 issue, so I checked my video card for updates and installed the latest. I also changed a few display settings (to more basic ones) with no effect. I also checked Event Viewer for anything that looked to be related (don't see anything). However, upon rebooting I notice that the usual black boot screen is now green, and the lines appear during booting.
Other than the weirdness of the lines, I don't have any other video problems. The lines are not intermittent. There are no vertical lines. Everything else appears normal (even the colors on the screen while in Windows).
I had seen a few similar posts on laptop forums that mentioned turning off legacy USB bios settings -- no effect. I've checked the DVI connections to my card and the monitor and they're fine.
I have not reinserted the card yet. I am hoping that this issue looks familiar to someone out there -- and that perhaps there is some bios update or other fix available. I checked the ATI site and don't see anything mentioned like this. I don't know much about graphics cards -- do they have a bios you can flash? (I didn't see anything about that on the ATI site...)
I'd appreciate any advice. Here are my main specs:

Driver ver 8.712.0.0 dated 3/2/2010,
set to 1920x1080 x 60 hertz (recommended setting)
