Green Lines on screen? GPU or Windows update?

A couple of days ago I had installed an update for Windows 10(KB4041994) Which went fine and all but when I had booted up my PC I noticed I had some green lines appearing on my screen.

The games can play ok with some flickering occasionally(Display disconnects/reconnects). The GPU had seemed to work perfectly before this update with no issues at all.

It seems that the problem differs between different games, League of Legends works perfectly, Civ 5 works fine but with occasional disconnect/reconnects. Rising Storm 2 seems to have it the worst, Display disconnects/reconnects every few seconds and horizontal green lines appear in the bottom half and top half of the screen. Changing settings in game only seems to make it worse and the display disconnects/reconnects even frequently.

I'm not 100% sure if this is a result of the update or maybe a faulty GPU. I've tried reinstalling drivers and installing latest drivers but to no avail. This is quite the frustrating issue and any help would be great!

Thank you.

EDIT: It's been nearly a week since the problems first appeared, I have high FPS on games still but now I get FPS stutters to the point its unplayable. Black screen flickering only happens on graphic intensive games. These FPS stutters happen on any program that use the GPU.
I've tried lowering the refresh rate from 60hz to 59hz and apparently this made it worse and flickering happens every few seconds(Firefox seemed to make it flicker a lot).
Is this a faulty GPU or just a dying PC? I tried testing the GPU for any failures but it seemed to be OK. Could this be related to the motherboard or maybe something else? I don't have a lot of gaming PC knowledge so any help would be appreciated.

What are your temps?

Make sure your GPU is tightly fitted.

Remove any dust on the GPU.

Both my CPU and GPU temps usually peak around 68°C and average around 65°C during gaming, I've re-seated my GPU and removed all dust from it but I still get the same results.

It's a new-ish GPU from a couple of months ago and has worked perfectly since I've received it, these problems have only arised with the Windows update.

I have also tried this today but with no luck either, I booted into safe mode, used DDU and reinstalled the drivers again but the same issues appear.

I haven't a spare cable at the moment but I will test this ASAP.

I haven't updated my MB drivers since 2015, I suppose this could could have been the issue. I'll give it a shot and see if it works.

So I tried this out and It seems that I ran into issues updating the BIOS, it confirms that the installation is complete and then prompts a reboot but nothing happens. The computer just boots up as normal and the BIOS version is unchanged.

I guess the BIOS is probably the culprit here but my knowledge on PCs is quite limited so this is pretty confusing to me.
