Green lines on startup windows 8

just upgraded to Windows 10 and the screen now has green stripes down the screen

green stripes has nothing to do with windows 10...that is a display issue...

Can you suggest a fix? It's a laptop so I can't test the graphics chip. It's wierd that it would go faulty while upgrading os

Did it happen immediately after you installed Windows 10? As in, Windows 10 installed, rebooted and you got green lines? Do they go away or change if you move the screen?

No it got to 25 percent rebooted and screen stayed black, left it on overnight but no change so I turned it off and on and got the green lines that just stay there, I would post a pic but not sure how. What do you mean physically move it?

You can take a picture of it and save it to a site such as Imgur.com, and then copy and paste the link here in the forum.

By moving the screen, I think he means open or close the screen slightly to see if there is possibly a bad (loose) connection between the screen and the motherboard.

Do you actually see an image but there are green lines on the screen with it, or you only have a black screen with green lines? Does the system boot OK to the BIOS screen?

hi thanks for the suggestions guys. No luck with moving the screen. The lines are moving down the screen like matrix. And a couple going horizontal.

It is possible that Windows 10 does not have the drivers for your graphics chip. Is this an older laptop? What version of Windows did you previously have on the laptop?

As asked above, can you get to the BIOS screen?

Or it could just be a coincidence that the video display happened to go out when you installed Windows 10, but I doubt that.

what is ur display card...integrated or dedicated???
