Grey horizontal lines when gaming

I have an LG 22EN33S monitor
http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-22EN33S
The gray lines are very visible only in darker places in the game while in places where there's light (e.g when looking at the sun) the lines are not visible at all.
and while I had a somewhat weak graphics card the AMD Radeon 7750 MSI OC the lines were almost unnoticeable so I thought it's nothing. And then I bought the R9 270 from Asus which I have now and the lines intensified as described previously.
And the monitor itself is still using VGA so I connect it via VGA to DVI adapter. Knowing that, my guess would be that VGA is bad and if I had like a display port or HDMI or DVI input on the monitor I wouldn't have the issues.

Thanks in advance if I get this problem solved !

The only simple cause I know of could be a weak / obstructed connection somewhere in the monitor cable or at any of the connector heads along the cable. The solution would be to disconnect the monitor cable and ensure there's no dust / debris present on any of the connections and that when reattached they are done so firmly and securely.

Do the same for your PCI-E x16 slot. Ensure nothing is in the slot that may cause a weak connection.

Ensure your Graphics Card drivers are up-to-date.

I've just checked the connections and the dust from the VGA cable and the dust from the adapter. Cleaned that, opened up my PC removed GPU cleaned dust there put it back in, nothing seems to be interfering with the connection.

Downloaded the latest driver and nothing ! no improvements ! I have tested it on BF 3 @ Ultra on Multiplayer.

Have you tried the monitor with a different computer?

You may also wish to open the monitor's own settings (via the button on the monitor frame) and look for the option 'Degauss' and try running that. If that option is available on your monitor, that may solve the problem.

You could try alternate resolutions, though that's a long shot.

Has the monitor suffered any hard knocks or severe physical damage?

I haven't tried it with another PC, but I will soon. And about the "degauss" thing, I don't really see it, but I will look in to that.
I've also tried a lower res, but nothing. And no, the monitor was never even moved from its place.

I'll keep you updated !
