You've stated before that in overclocking durons tend to have good results right? Is it worth buying a overclocked duron @980-1050 for $64.99 or get a duron 650 for $49.99? Is it worth the extra $15 since I might not get a 650 to go at 1ghz?

Also, what mobo should I get? I was going to get the Iwill kk266 but the place I am buying from recommends Abit KT7A which go for $174.99 with 2.2 volts modifaction done and $169.99 without mod. These seem kinda high for mobo's. What do you think about it all?

Well most durons 700 or higher should reach 1GHz or just below that range.

Personally I recommend the A7V133 since I have had very good experience with the ASUS boards. It's quite easy to do the voltage mod, all you need is a solder gun and a 24K om resistor.

Some people say the duron can't fsb overclock very well, some people say it can do it just fine. Fsb overclock is more important to me and people also say that teh KT7A is the best overclocker.

The kk266 is a great board for fsb overclocking as most people seem to be able to get it to 160 and above. The kt7a didn't do that well at first although one site got one of the new ones to 183 fsb. No way to know if you're getting one of the old kt7a's or the new ones though. As far as ocz goes, stay away from them, if you look around other forums, everyone has problems with them, and those prices for the kt7a are way too high.

Thx for the heads up on ocz. Guess I'm back to searching for a place with good prices not on just one item I need, shucks. Anyone word on if overclockwarehouse.com is good?

I've purchased from OCZ and have my Duron 600 on my KT7 at 1007 mhz, 9.5 x 106. My motherboard combo worked as promised. OCZ was a little slow to ship, about 4 business days, 7 to arrive, but everything worked as promised. A smaller shipment of odds and ends, vid heatsinks and thermal paste took the same 7 days. They combined the pieces into one shipment and reduced my shipping charges. Nice of them. They were also very helpful with their emails.

Unfortunately, there have been a lot of messages regarding problems with OCZ, especially at www.hardforum.com (HardOCP, I believe). WWW.ResellerRatings.com give OCZ a very bad rating. So I don't know what to tell you. I will probably continue doing business with OCZ but I will no longer give a recommendation.
