I recently decided to replace my motherboard and cpu. I now have an I7-8700k and a gtx 980ti. Both are overheating. I understand I might need an new cpu cooler but I still don't know what to do about my gpu? For reference the gpu is running at 83-85C while under load.

People are saying online that 85-90C is too hot. Also Im getting windows warnings every time I go above 83C. If its really not bad how do i turn these off. Also, I was told 980ti starts throttling at 83C as well.

For gaming 80-90 is still normal temp, especially for reference model. You could try cleaning your gpu from dust, change thermal paste, and improve airflow. What case do you have, and how many fans? What is your cpu cooler? And what are your cpu temps? Intel cpu's always run hot.

Okay so my cpu cooler runs at 60-62C under load. I have a H60 cooler with 2 fans on the radiator. I have cleaned my case for dust and reapplied thermal paste already. I have 3 fans (not including radiator fans) Not sure my exact case but all chassis fan slots are filled. Cpu is an I7-8700k. My gpu is not reference, its an evga one with 2 fans on the bottom.

Intel CPUs always runs hot? okay
