Every modern GPU has a hybrid vBIOS that allows use on either Legacy BIOS boot or UEFI boot. The problem is during the Sandy Bridge era, many OEM boards like as this Pegatron exposed various EFI features in their BIOS but were not actually fully UEFI compliant. This results in a GPU incorrectly booting up in UEFI mode and only showing a black screen. Without a BIOS update (which OEMs were very bad at supplying), the only solution for such boards was a MSI card that had a physical vBIOS switch that can force Legacy BIOS mode.
That said, on UserBenchmark there are a number of people running modern video cards on this specific board, including a GTX 1050Ti
